Autumn - Vintage Guatemalan Textile Pillow

The front of this colourful pillow is made from a handwoven, vintage Guatemalan corte with a jaspe design. A corte is a traditional Maya skirt, which is traditionally woven on a foot loom. The two ends of the rectangular cloth are then sewn together to form a "tube-shaped" wrap-around skirt. A randa, or colourful band of embroidery, is often added to cover the seam. Some of these beautiful and intricate textiles can take months to make. The backing of the pillow is a natural-coloured cotton and has an envelope enclosure.
INSERT SIZE: 18 x 18" (pillow cover is slightly smaller)
COLOURS: blue, green, pink, red, yellow
PILLOW INSERT IS INCLUDED (fluffy, hypoallergenic, synthetic down alternative insert which has similar loft to down but is made with microfiber so doesn't have actual feathers potentially poking you). This means it will be ready to add colour to your home straight from the box!
